GIRL WITH A BOOK Movement is a Not-for-Profit, tax exempt organization registered in the United States. Its mission is to be an information hub regarding different education systems around the world. During their tour to Asia the team visited Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, and Nepal.
In Pakistan they conducted a research project on the state of education, looking at success stories and challenges of various students across the country, with a special focus on girls and young women. In the list of institutions they also included DSF and conducted interviews of acid burn victims with a special focus on the girls trained in beauty courses and practically working as professionals in Depilex Beauty Salon. Masarrat Misbah briefed them about the mission of the organization and her motivation which led to the establishment of DSF for helping the acid burn victims. Ayesha Taslim elaborated on the holistic approach providing medical support, psycho social support and vocational training leading to their rehabilitation.
